Maschine Learning Engineer (m/f/d)

Welcome to Nunatak and our Data & AI Lab! For our locations in Munich or Berlin, we are looking for a Machine Learning Engineer (m/f/d) to join us at the earliest possible date.

We are looking for a tech expert (m/f/d) who can turn complex models into clean software architectures, master state-of-the-art technologies, and actively drive the technological implementation of our clients' AI transformation.

Your Responsibilities with Us:

• Pragmatic Prototyping: As an integral part of the Data & AI Lab, you develop functional ML prototypes in short sprints to efficiently solve business problems and quickly deliver visible, tangible value for the client.

• End-to-End Ownership: You take full responsibility for the entire process - from clean data preparation and precise modeling to seamless integration into existing interfaces.

• Flexible Architecture Approaches: In our sandbox environments, you have the freedom to build demos and run experiments. However when it comes to client systems, you dependably rely on compliant, standardized architectures.

• Real-World Impact: You stress-test your models for reliability in real-world operations. For both you and us, actual value in the client's business process always takes priority over pure academic perfection.

• Collaboration & Knowledge Transfer: You work closely in an interdisciplinary team alongside other ML Engineers, GenAI Applicationeers, and Data & AI Consultants. In doing so, you constructively challenge requirements and ensure sustainable knowledge transfer to our clients.

What You Bring to the Table:

• Practical Experience: You have 3–5 years of professional experience in applied machine learning, during which you have successfully guided at least one model from initial concept to production deployment.

• Tech Stack: Solid practical knowledge of common ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn) as well as proficiency with the scientific Python stack (e.g., NumPy, Pandas).

• Cloud & Deployment: Proven experience in training, validating, and deploying models in at least one major cloud environment (e.g., Google Cloud / Vertex AI, AWS SageMaker, or Azure ML).

• Data Engineering Skills: Proficiency with SQL and data pipeline architecture. You are experienced in preparing and ensuring the quality of large, complex process and client data.

• MLOps Mindset: You possess a strong understanding of real-world operations, including model versioning, monitoring, and continuous model refinement.

• Academic Foundation: A completed degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Physics, or a comparable technical field.

• Languages: You are fluent in both German and English.
